Behind the Shark?
Mako Art Market is a community-driven event celebrating creativity, artists, and unique handmade goods. Founded by Geann Gamboa (aka Gemwrld), a Filipino illustrator from Ontario, Mako was built with the goal of creating well-promoted, engaging, and accessible art markets.
With a background in marketing, event coordination, and illustration, Geann has organized dozens of events, from cupsleeve gatherings and artist meetups to large-scale art markets. They also served as the OCAD U Artist Alley lead from 2022 to 2024, helping emerging artists take their first steps into tabling
